Main Responsibilities:
- Training and development of accounting Team Members and successions planning
- Build and maintain a performance driven culture throughout the hotel
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process
- Coordinate & supervise activities in his/her department
- Ensure that respective team projects a warm, professional and welcome image
- Handle and monitor complaints and the relevant follow up action required
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relations and takes active interest in the welfare, safety & development of Team Members
- Interact regularly with colleague to obtain feedback for improvement
- Produce internal financial reports in an accurate and timely manner for the daily work of hotel’s management team
- Ensure that the Executive and Management Team have financial awareness
- Prepare monthly Profit or Loss, cash flow
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register
- Prepare yearly budget and revise forecast every quarter
- Approve Purchase Order when required
- Review bank reconciliations monthly
- Collaborate and adhere with internal control and compliance policies
- Benchmark and analyze performance and make improvement recommendations
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommends appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Produce monthly reporting on variance
- Verify reconciliation of takings and banking daily
- Prepare and pay tax returns
- Ensure books and records are kept as per standards and all financial practices are legal and within guidelines in state laws
- Ensure all relevant audits recommendations are implemented and adopted within standard procedures
- Ensure proper and timely recording of all transactions daily
- Maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures and ensures compliance to accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Establish and maintain hotel accounting systems and SOPs, make recommendations on the implementation of same to increase efficiency and profitability, establish and maintain effective accounting controls
Candidate’s Profile:
- Degree in Finance and Accounting from a recognized institution
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- 2+ years of related experience
- Mix of experience from accounting firm and industry experience preferred, but not required
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS required
- Fluent in English & French, both written & spoken
