Leisure & Sports Supervisor

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist HR/S&LM in conducting selection of S&L personnel
  • Assist superior to conduct Performance Appraisal and identify necessary training measures of respective team members
  • Make recommendations to Superior on team members’ matters and promotions
  • Ensure that discipline prevails within the team and communicates any disciplinary issues to Superior/HR Manager
  • Conduct on the job training on a regular basis
  • Follow up induction of new recruits
  • Keep Superior informed about all unusual matters concerning any plans affecting his/her area
  • Play an active role in the team and ensure smooth and satisfactory hand-over between shifts
  • Assist in the building of an efficient team by taking interest in their welfare, safety and development
  • Coordinate & supervise activities to ensure optimum care and assistance to guests
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations
  • Ensure high level of quality services are delivered to guests at all times
  • Ensure that the L&S team projects a warm, professional and welcome image and a high level of quality services
  • Adapt the entertainment activities as per category of guest
  • Assist Superior to:
  • Handle and monitor guests complaints and the relevant follow up action required
  • Interact regularly with guest to obtain feedbacks for improvement
  • Prepare and ensure that duty roster for the department is done such that there is complete coverage at all times and to minimize overtime costs
  • Follow up on punctuality, controls absenteeism and takes corrective actions where necessary
  • Ensure that there is a proper planning and control of annual leaves for the department
  • Promote and attempt upselling
  • Make inventory of materials and equipment for stock control
  • Report any breakages, defects, loss of operating equipment and accessories to Sports and Leisure Manager
  • Manage his / her Business Unit as independent profit centre
  • Follow up on billing
  • Set the annual operating budget and ensures that it is strictly adhered to and managed on a monthly basis
  • Establish cost management plan
  • Manage roster
  • Ensure respective TMs are operating as per Quality Management System
  • Ensure respective TMs are operating as per S&H regulations and policies
  • Conduct Operational communication meeting (one to one) with his / her TM
  • Coordinate all duties conducted by the Leisure & Sport team
  • Responsible for “mise en place” of activities as per programme
  • Comply with all the sustainability commitments and practices implemented within business units
  • Notify the Sustainable Development Department of any matters that may pose any impact to the environment and society

Candidate’s Profile:

  • SC level or equivalent
  • Gym/Sport Monitor Certificate
  • NTC2 Entertainment/Sports
  • Gym or sport Instructor (for as least 2 year) or Entertainer as least for 4 years
  • Computer literate including hotel management system such as Opera, Micros, Win HMS…
  • Fluent in English and French both written and spoken, a third language would be an advantage
