Maintenance Executive

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist Superior to:
  • Conduct selection, recruitment and promotion of respective team members (together with HRC/HRE)
  • Ensure that on the job training is conducted on a regular basis
  • Conduct Performance Appraisal and identify necessary training measures of respective team members
  • Coordinate & supervise activities in his/her department
  • Prepare the Department budget (Capex, Opex etc)
  • Set the annual operating budget and ensure that it is strictly adhere to and follow up on a monthly basis
  • Supervise and control the extra work done by contractors
  • Draw up preventive maintenance schedules for every item of mechanical and electrical plant or equipment of all departments, such as Chillers, Boilers and Cooling
  • Establish cost management plan
  • Maintain accuracy of savings, such as electricity, gas, water supplies, etc.
  • Manage all environmental projects
  • Ensure that preventive maintenance programme is working satisfactorily and that paperwork and logbooks / sheets for all testing (emergency lighting, fire alarm, sprinkler system) are kept up to
  • Responsible for:
  • Make recommendations to Superior on team members’ matters and promotions
  • Assist the HRM in developing and implementing formal training plans for the Department
  • Together with HR develop and implement formal training plans for the Department
  • Identify departmental trainers, assign training responsibilities and meet with departmental trainers monthly
  • Ensure that discipline prevails within the team and communicates any disciplinary issues to HR
  • Act as a coach
  • Ensure that respective team projects a warm, professional and welcome image
  • Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relations and takes active interest in the welfare, safety & development of TM
  • Formulate a short and long term Team Member work schedule. Maintaining a harmonious balance between necessary supervision and individual creativity
  • Ensure good maintenance of both internal and external customers’ facilities
  • Handle and monitor of guests complaints and the relevant follow up action required
  • Monitor and control inventories of work equipment advises Hotel Manager on refurbishment and rebuilding
  • Follow up of the Department Budget on a monthly basis
  • Manage Roster
  • Follow up on punctuality, controls absenteeism and takes corrective actions where necessary
  • Ensure that there is a proper planning and control of annual leaves for the department
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and schedule resources accordingly
  • Advise General Manager/Hotel Manager on refurbishment and rebuilding
  • Close collaborate with GM/HM on all infrastructural projects
  • Minimize wastage
  • Ensure respective TMs are operating as per Quality Management System
  • Ensure respective TMs are operating as per S&H regulations and policies
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the Department
  • Ensure that all new and existing equipment are registered with concerned authorities and all permits are up to date
  • Ensure regular tests are carried out on water and take appropriate action is taken whenever necessary
  • Direct and supervise the day-to-day operations of the general maintenance and repair of the resort
  • Establish in line with the quality manager of all quality procedures and follow-up
  • Ensure all disturbances / breakdowns are handled and registered
  • Follow up on new projects
  • Test regularly all fire prevention systems in the entire hotel
  • Monitor all electrical and mechanical works (as per check lists)
  • Make sure that plant rooms and all areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Follow-up on all maintenance requests
  • Ensure that furnishings and installations are in good condition in the outlets otherwise takes appropriate measures
  • Comply with all the sustainability commitments and practices implemented within business units
  • Notify the Sustainable Development Department of any matters that may pose any impact to the environment and society

Candidate’s Profile:

  • Diploma from a recognised institution, majoring in Engineering or equivalent major                                                   
  • Strong familiarity with hotel management system such as MS Office tools, Opera, Micros, Win HMS…
  • In Hotel or Institutional Catering Business, as least 3 years Maintenance Supervisor for 5 years                               
  • Fluent in English and French both written and spoken
