Storekeeper

Main Responsibilities:

  • Take part in training and implement accordingly
  • Keep his superior informed about all unusual matters concerning any plans affecting his/her area
  • Conduct and ensure that employees receive adequate and satisfactory on-the-job training
  • Ensure that discipline prevails within the team and communicate any disciplinary issues to Superior / HR Manager
  • Assist in the building of an efficient team by taking interest in the welfare, safety and development
  • Ensure high level of quality services are delivered at all times
  • Ensure correct stock rotation and that issues are effected on a First in – First out basis
  • Ensure monthly review of slow moving items
  • Perform a physical stocktaking of all items in store at stipulated intervals and provide closing stock figures to the Cost Controller
  • Minimize wastage
  • Check expiry date of products
  • Regular update on the temperature of food stuffs in cold storage while doing receiving of products
  • Ensure energy saving (electricity)
  • Ensure a strict control of access to the Store section
  • Inspect all incoming materials and verify quantity with purchase order
  • Ensure that goods received are of the same quality and quantity ordered, report cases of non-delivery and sub-standard deliveries to the Accounts department and email suppliers to send credit note for items not received
  • Store all received materials in its designated locations
  • Receive store requisitions and ensures that all issues are made against requisitions, and that no items leave the storeroom without the appropriate approval signature
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary information on stock
  • Provide support to accounts officer in obtaining statement of account from supplier and in check delivery
  • Follow procedures and SOPs in relation in store
  • Raise and approval of purchasing request
  • Comply with all the sustainability commitments and practices implemented within business units
  • Notify the Sustainable Development Department of any matters that may pose any impact to the environment and society

Candidate’s Profile:

  • HSC or equivalent Certificate in Store/Warehouse Management would be an advantage
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • 2 years’ working experience in a similar position (at least 1 year in hospitality industry)
  • Computer literacy including hotel management system
  • Fluent both in English and French
